Medvet was founded in 1985 as the commercial vehicle of the Royal Adelaide Hospital (RAH) and the Institute of Medical and Veterinary Science (IMVS).

Medvet Laboratories is one of Australia’s largest and most successful providers of human medical testing services and products. Medvet conducts over 100,000 tests each year in the areas of workplace drug & alcohol testing, food & environmental testing and DNA testing. Medvet also commercialises medical and scientific intellectual property from pathology and hospital environments.  Medvet operates a medical emergency retrieval business and an international patient care business.

Medvet provides a drug and alcohol testing service Australia wide. Medvet offers a range of urine testing, saliva testing and breath testing products to identify drug use in your work place.  Medvet can manage all aspects of your drug and alcohol testing program.  Medvet has staff across Australia that can manage your drug and alcohol testing, from policy development and drug testing sample collection, to result analysis and dissemination. 

DNA TESTING

Medvet provides accurate DNA testing using up-to-date technology in our purpose built Australian laboratory.  The results of the DNA tests are certified with a 99.998% degree of accuracy. Medvet offers a self collect DNA test and a legally admissible DNA test.

 

Food Sanitation Testing

Medvet offer a full range of food and water tests including:

The laboratory has NATA accreditation and Therapeutic Goods Administration Licence for microbiological analysis and testing, and operates within an ISO Quality Management System.

Human Pathology

Medvet owns Mediflight.  Mediflight is an International 24 hour airborne critical care retrieval service, supported by Senior Medical Officers from South Australia.   Our staff have extensive experience in trauma management and critical Care.

Medvet owns Aushealth.  Aushealth aims to assist international patients’ access the high quality medical services available in South Australian public and private hospitals

Medvet Laboratories is the agent of the Institute of Medical and Veterinary Science (IMVS) and the Royal Adelaide Hospital (RAH) for the protection and commercialisation of Intellectual Property (IP).
